WHERE
HAS ETERNITY GONE? Country
of production: UK The plains of the American Midwest have been home to scores of people with fecund imaginations. Today, Fargo, North Dakota and its suburbs host at least three of them: Gerald Polley, Linda Polley, and their friend Jesse. Gerald and Linda are mediums in almost constant contact with the spirit world, including the spirit of John Lennon. Linda even performs Lennon's new compositions on her electronic keyboard. In the 2000 election, both Jesus and John Lennon are campaigning for George W. Bush. If Al Gore and Hillary Clinton win their elections, there will be a global apocalypse. Jesse, who often explains the situation in a hybrid of Christianity, Norse mythology, and inter-galactic travel terminology, remarks: "On a planet of six million sentient beings, we're the only three that have the guts to actually tell people these things." Gerald adds: "If Gore wins, the kingdom of God is going to be angrier than ever, because they say this election has body odor. Something stinks real bad." Director:
