A happily married transvestite, Pascal(e) works demolition during the day and dreams of being a dancer at night. Pascal(e) is loving and compassionate and with his spouse takes good care of their children. However, they face an unending onslaught of ostracism and insult in their small village. In the face of great odds, they struggle to express themselves and keep their family together.

Fernand Melgar is a self-taught, independent director, editor, and producer. He was born in 1961 in Tangiers, and has been living in Lausanne since 1963. He has produced and directed several feature-length documentaries for European television. Since 1996, he has been editor for Swiss director Jacqueline Veuve. He also teaches in the cinema department of the Lausanne's High School of Art.
