SONNY BOY tracks Soleil and her father, Virgil Frye, on a riveting cross-country odyssey. Through New Mexico where Virgil partied on the set of EASY RIDER, New Orleans where he charmed the ladies with his Elvis impersonation, Alabama where he spoke out for civil rights, and the Iowa cornfields where he earned the nickname "Sonny Boy" and became a Golden Gloves boxing champion. As the snapshots of his life pass them by, father and daughter attempt to reconcile their difficult past and deal with the pain of his worsening Alzheimer's disease. Soleil and Virgil's voyage is a trip
through time as well as through space, as they explore their own life
and memories of each other, all the while attempting to forge new memories
- which Mr. Frye is tragically destined to forget almost as soon as
they are made. Soleil Moon Frye
(born 1976) rocketed to worldwide fame at the age of eight, with the
title role in the network television sitcom PUNKY BREWSTER. Since then,
she has acted in several dozen additional television series, including
a several year stint on SABRINA GOES TO COLLEGE (follow-up to SABRINA
THE TEENAGE WITCH). Saturday 03-Apr-2004
