In the favelas (slums) of Rio de Janeiro, soccer seems the only hope for escaping a culture of violence and crime. Young boys playing in the streets dream of professional futures, of real jerseys, and of real teams. This film focuses in on a number of these boys, within the context of everyday life in the favelas, at the time of the Soccer World Championships. Will their dream come true?
