Chicago, IL – The Chicago International Documentary Festival today announced that screenings for the 2005 festival will be held at eight well-appointed Chicago area cultural venues.

The opening night gala is scheduled for Friday, April 1, 2005 at the University Of Chicago’s Doc Films - Max Palevsky Cinema, 1212 E. 59th Street. Doc is located on the University’s Hyde Park campus, features a 500-seat auditorium and offers sufficient free parking.

Closing night festivities complete with reception and awards ceremony will be held Saturday, April 9, 2005 at Thorne Auditorium on Northwestern University’s downtown campus, 375 East Chicago Ave. Thorne, a 700 seat auditorium, is located near Chicago’s infamous Magnificent Mile and is easily accessible via cab. The Festival’s host theater and primary location is the Society For Arts’ Gallery Theatre, 1112 N. The luxury, 75-seat theatre is located inside an art gallery that also features guest suites, a bar, and reserved parking for special events.
