The festival's 2004 edition takes place April 1-11, 2004 in five venues in Chicago. The program includes nearly one hundred extraordinary films. Sixteen films are selected to the main competition (Chicago Doc Grand Prix). All participating films are eligible for the other awards.

Programs are subject to change without notice. No refunds or exchanges are given, except in the case of program cancellations.

Theater doors open 30 minutes before each show, unless otherwise noted. Seating is available at all shows on a first-come, first-served basis. While a pass does not guarantee seating, passholders are allowed priority up to 15 minutes before showtime or until the passholder seat allotment has been reached.
Please be prompt. In the event of sold out programs, all unclaimed seats will be released for sale 5 minutes before each show time. No late seating.

No babies in arms and no children under six years old will be admitted. Please be aware that films may not be suitable for ages 16 and under. Parental discretion is advised.

Cameras and recording devices are not permitted in the theater. Please silence all cellular phones and pagers when in the theater.

Each film will be shown in its original language with English subtitles, unless otherwise noted.
Film length, as listed in the program, represents the best available information at the press time, and does not include introductions or Q&A sessions following the screening.

All audience members must leave the theater following each screening. Saving seats between shows is not allowed.
