LOVE
WITHOUT VISA Country
of production: Poland The
protagonists, a woman embittered by painful experience and a man with
‘a past’, are forced to believe in love at first sight when they experience
it themselves. She is from Ukraine, he is from Poland. Meeting in unusual
circumstances and falling in love immediately, their story would be
banal if not for the practical difficulties that come with their relationship.
Lena has left her son, along with her unloved husband, in her home country.
It is impossible to live with her lover in Poland, and even harder for
her son to join them. Only love exists in a foreign country without
a visa and life without one is far too difficult. Lena’s tortuous trips
between Poland and Ukraine, the constant fear that she won’t make it
back, a series of humiliations at the border… Director:
