IRON MARIA
Original language title: DIE EISERNE MARIA

Country of production: Germany
Year: 2002
Language: German, Russian, Lithuanian
58 mins.

Liesabeth Otto, also known as "Iron Maria," has lived a singularly rough life. This vivid, touching, and intimate portrait displays her with all her fervor and zest. Today, at 63-years-old, she struggles for survival in light of the ferocious experiences in her past, including wandering homeless, being abused, and surviving totalitarian regimes. The film is shot and directed with verve and caution - it is an unforgettable experience.
