This is a film about parental love and devotion. The subjects are parents whose sick children are hospitalized. The parents spend weeks, even months, in hospital wards enduring harsh conditions: sleeping in chairs and on the floor, with no bathrooms to wash, and no dining facilities. This, of course, matters little to them. For them, the most important thing is to be by their child’s bedside. Director Maciej Adamek follows, the mother of David (ill with cancer), the father of Patrycja (a kidney transplant), and the mother of Alicja (heart condition). We see them discuss matters with the doctors, keep vigil as their child sleeps, play games, and in dramatic situations.



Maciej Adamek was born in 1968 in Gdansk, Poland. He studied Polish Literature at the Gdansk University, and later Film Directing at the State Film School in Lódz. Member of the European Film Academy. He is now working on his debut feature film.
