EYE
SPY Country of
production: Peru Like Watergate, but with videotapes. EYE SPY is a documentary about Vladimiro Montesinos, a powerful information minister under Peru's past President Alberto Fujimori. Montesinos videotaped his bribing of politicians, bankers, entrepreneurs, judges, military officers, journalists... But ultimately these tapes were leaked, plunging Peru into chaos, and in part leading to Fujimori's downfall and exile. The film shows many of these tapes, and reflects on many of the events surrounding their release, including through the eyes of several children. EYE SPY has an acidic script and dynamic editing - the film features many revelations, and is a revelation itself. Director:
