This high-octane film plunges into the world of the most notorious and dangerous motor sports event on the planet while bringing viewers into the minds of the participants. Each fall, for over 30 years, an eclectic assortment of individuals and vehicles arrives in Ensenada, Mexico for the Baja 1000, the longest point-to-point race in the world. Hundreds of entrants of all abilities race in six different divisions. They race everything from dune buggies to 800-horsepower trophy trucks to motorcycles. The goal of each racer may be as different as his horsepower, but each faces the same rugged, unpredictable desert terrain. Shot from the ground and from the air by more than 50 cameras in formats including 35mm, 16mm (with Nightscope), 16mm time-lapse, Hi-Definiti8on, Mini Hi-Definition, DV Cam and Mini DV, Dust to Glory brings home the madness and mayhem of man-and-machine vs. unforgiving nature. With Mario Andretti, Sal Fish, James Garner, Ricky Johnson, Chad McQueen and a host of top drivers.

Dana Brown was born December 11, 1959, the oldest son of legendary filmmaker Bruce Brown. He learned to surf at the age of six and was ten when he received his first 8mm film camera, from which a few dozen westerns, cop movies, and surf movies were produced. Later in life, Dana has worked as a free-lance writer for Surfer, Surfing, Kima, the Santa Barbara Independent, and many others. In 1988 his father employed him to reconstruct 5 early Bruce Brown surf films and Dana was bitten once again with the filmmaker's bug. Since then Dana has directed, edited, and written over 35 projects, including Search for Surf, The Endless Summer II, 24 episodes of the Emmy winning Surfers Journal, Red Water, The Endless Summer Revisited, and On Any Sunday Revisited.
