THE
DIVER Country
of production: Finland A study of diving in the tradition of the famous scenes in OLYMPIA - but with a heart. Helge Wasenius is 73 years old. He has spent years at this pool in Helsinki, since even before the 1952 Olympics, when he dove here for his country. In this film, Mr. Wasenius looks out on the pool both literally and figuratively. He recalls private as well as public moments, official as well as unofficial events. The Olympics appear alongside his entertaining of crowds as a diving clown. And surrounding the diver himself, we hear a crystal-clear soundtrack, and see the crystal clear skies and waters... Director:
