This is the story of journalists caught up in a new era in war-reporting. In the second Gulf War the coalition forces divided the world's media into two camps: the famous "embedded" reporters, and the "unilaterals," who more or less played by their own rules - though they nonetheless often found themselves protected by U.S. soldiers. In making WAR FEELS LIKE WAR, Esteban
Uyarra lived and worked among the unilaterals. Beginning in Kuwait City,
then crossing the border into southern Iraq, we follow some of these
independent reporters - including two from the CHICAGO TRIBUNE - up
to Baghdad and beyond, sharing the experiences and problems faced by
those reporting on modern-day war. Esteban Uyarra
is a director, cameraman and editor. He has worked for several UK TV
channels, including a number of projects for the BBC. He spent three
months on his own in the Persian Gulf making this film. Thursday 08-Apr-2004
