Mexico, 1968.
Just before the Olympics, there is a huge massacre. This film is an
anatomy of that catastrophe.
This documentary draws on all
the footage shot of the October 2, tragedy, in which security forces
massacred student protestors in Mexico City. Military bosses and special
forces who participated in the attacks are identified. Many questions
are asked; some are answered, some are not.
TLATELOLCO presents a clear
and penetrating view of this event that marked a turning point in Mexico's
history. It is part of the filmmakers' persistent search for the keys
to explaining the murders that took place in Mexico's Plaza of the Three
Cultures.
Carlos Mendoza was born in Mexico
City in Mexico City. He studied directing in UNAM, where he now teaches
