The story of John Holmes is a story of sex, drugs, more sex, more drugs, and murder. John Holmes led a crazed and colorful life, and left behind a large archive of his extraordinary activities - including, of course, the 2500 porn films starring his fourteen-inch appendage. John Holmes was porn's first male superstar; he was also a drug addict and the main suspect in a gruesome multiple murder.

This hour-long documentary is a blend of archive, wry commentary, modern day footage, and intimate interviews. Featured are Holmes' wife, brother, manager, best friend, and prosecuting judge - as well as the police lieutenant to whom Holmes informed on the pornography business.

Glenn Barden and Dave Hills have collaborated on numerous documentaries for British television and elsewhere.
