OVERNIGHT Troy Duffy catapulted from bartender to mini-mogul in the making in 1997, when Harvey Weinstein from Miramax Films bought Duffy's script and promised him the world. Convinced that he was finally getting his due, Duffy started a production company, hired a staff, sweet-talked his way into record deals - and started burning bridges. But then Harvey stopped taking Duffy's calls… OVERNIGHT filmmakers Mark Brian Smith
and Tony Montana were there from the beginning, as friends who shot
Duffy's entire evolution from bartender to hot shot and back again.
Larger than life, able to convince people to do extraordinary things,
multi-talented - Duffy's character is the stuff of great filmmaking.
It is not, however, the stuff of great friendship. Mark Brian Smith
studied filmmaking at New York University, and has worked extensively
in reality television. He also worked in postproduction on several Hollywood
movies. Director & Producer Tony Montana in person! Wednesday 07-Apr-2004 9:00 PM Facets Cinematheque
