Three
years in the making, this new film from acclaimed documentary filmmakers
Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky (BROTHER'S KEEPER and PARADISE LOST)
provides a fascinating, in-depth portrait of the most successful heavy
metal band of all time, as they faced monumental personal and professional
challenges while recording their first studio album of original songs
in five years.
Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky are among the leading American
documentarians of their generation. They met while working for the Maysles
Brothers. They have created television programs together and individually
for ABC, HBO, VH-1, AMC, PBS, Court TV, and many other stations. BROTHER'S
KEEPER, their first feature-length collaboration, won numerous awards
from American film critic and filmmaker circles. Since then, they have
continually explored American popular culture and its underbelly.

ditch effort to keep the splintering group from unraveling. Eventually
this led the band to adopt a more open, collaborative approach to songwriting.
