War IV
Travel
beyond the hype of Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11,
past the news media’s sensationalized portrait of the
war in Iraq to grounded and provocative insights on the legitimacy
of America’s War on Terror - with a Conservative bend.
From former Governor’s Circle member of then Texas Governor
George W. Bush, Don Craven, comes World War IV, an investigation
of the U.S. government’s decision to invade Iraq and
to launch a world wide search and destroy mission against
terrorists. Craven foments conservative debate from intelligence
analysts, political and religious leaders as well as a few
academic voices on the strategic wisdom of America’s
war in Iraq, its handling of 9/11 and the War on Terror. Compelling
interviews with such media figures as Republican Congressman
and “Freedom Fries” resolution sponsor Walter
Jones (NC), Pentagon Analyst Karen Kwiatowski and International
Terrorism Expert Bob Pape pave the way for Craven’s
questioning of the Bush administration – one that he
used to champion and bolster. Also included are battlefield
testimonies from Iraq War Veterans Hart Viges and Geoffrey
Millard who openly comment of the morale of soldiers stationed
in the Middle East. World War IV avoids conspiracy theory
and hackneyed motives behind America’s current military
situation and chooses instead to ask leading conservatives
whether or not the War in Iraq and the War on Terror are good
for America.
Don
Craven, Jr. is an entrepreneur based in Austin, Texas
and was an early contributor to the Austin Film Society. He
has founded and sold several technology businesses and other
businesses ventures. Don has written one play, Like The
Mountains, which showed at Austin's Hyde Park Theater
in 2004, and has co-written two festure screenplays: Jackpot,
and Dirty Martini which are in pre-production.
