Esteban
Creste (USA)
Esteban
Creste was born in Uruguay and came to the United States in
1984. A journalist with over twenty years of experience in
television, radio and newspaper, he served as managing editor
of Telemundo’s New York station, Telemundo 47. During
that time, he also presented and directed his own public affairs
program – “De Frente con Esteban Creste”
-- focusing on relevant political, cultural and community
issues. In 2004 he became the News Director of Telemundo Chicago.
Gunny Hyoung (Korea)
Gunny
Hyoung was born in Seoul Korea in 1963. He received a Bachelor
of Art in Communications from Michigan State University. He
also holds a Master of Arts in TV, Radion and Film from Wayne
State University and studied television and journalism in
the Netherlands. He has worked as a documentary director for
Korean television and is currently the Festival Director of
the EBS International Documentary Festival.
Jose "Pepe" Vargas (USA)
Jose
"Pepe" Vargas was born in Colombia and arrived to
the United States in 1980. He earned a degree in Broadcast
Journalism & TV/Film production in 1985. He is the founder
and executive director of the International Latino Cultural
Center, where he fosters the understanding of Latino culture
through the universal language of the arts. The Center annually
presents the Chicago Latino Film Festival, which is currently
in its 23rd year. He has received many awards for his dedication
to the arts and was profiled by the Chicago Tribune as a “Chicagoan
of the Year” for 2003. In 2004, he received an Honorary
Doctorate Degree in Fine Arts from Lake Forest College, and
is one of two winners of the Chicago Community Trust 2006
Fellowship.
