My Friend Ernesto

Ernesto, his friend Miguel and their horse Machaca rise before dawn to make the rounds as the town´s garbage collectors. Ernesto is a man who is proud of his job and defends it with dignity. He says he loves Miguel for his friendship and Machaca for making his work possible . Ernesto takes us to meet his family, especially his "pearl", his daughter, and it is clear he is quite content with his humble lot. He in turn also interrogates the film´s director who openly reveals his prejudice against people who do such work.
